Media groups across Europe have optioned rights to Gil Formats’ Pregnant & Platonic, which looks at the rising trend of co-parenting.The Israeli factual entertainment format, which was launched at Mipcom in October, centres on women and men who are looking to have a child without being in a romantic relationship.It was inspired by the personal experience of Gil Formats CEO Assaf Gil, who had his first child last year with a co-parent.Finestripe Productions in the UK, Endemol Shine Germany, This Is Nice Group in Sweden and Bulldog TV in Spain have now optioned the rights to the format, which was co-developed wth US prodco My Entertainment.“Pregnant & Platonic builds on Gil Formats’ repertoire of ground-breaking, insightful and innovative television.
