New York-based One Foot Forward, the premium content division of Michael Yudin’s MY Entertainment, has linked up with a number of partners on new non-scripted content aimed at streamers.
One Foot Forward is working with partners including Academy Award-winner Michael Sugar’s Sugar23 (Spotlight); Mark Wahlberg, Archie Gips and Stephen Levinson’s Unrealistic Ideas; Laurent Bouzereau; and original Saturday Night Live writer Alan Zweibel.
It is also developing projects with Jeremiah Crowell, Paul Pawlowski, Emmy- and Peabody Award-winner Dave Check and Scout Productions.
The division, overseen by MY Entertainment chief operating officer and executive producer Joe Townley, has also inked a deal for exclusive rights to Dorothy Carvello’s tell-all music industry book Anything for a Hit: An A&R Woman’s Story of Surviving the Music Industry.
One Foot Forward has joined Sugar23 and Bouzereau, who will direct, to develop Pellicano, the behind-the-headlines real-life story of Hollywood’s most sought-after private investigator, Anthony Pellicano.
With Wahlberg and Unrealistic Ideas, the unit is developing Milk Carton Kids, a documentary series featuring the stories of four missing kids who were reunited with their families after their images were displayed on milk cartons in the 1980s.
One Foot Forward head of development Joanna Zwickel said: “From an international scam to issues of race, political controversy and the pursuit of human happiness, these riveting, ripped-from-the-headlines stories are driven by access to the key players involved. One Foot Forward is thrilled to be in business with such top-tier talent and eager to bring their unique points of view to the marketplace.”
